The event will take place the evening of Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at the Schwab Residential Center, located at 680 Serra Street on the Stanford University Campus.
The program will consist of a special introductory presentation by Reid Dennis, entitled �50 Years of Venture Capital.� Reid is a Stanford MBA and a prominent member of the venture capitalist community from the very start. In 1980 he founded Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), and is responsible for some of the best known success stories in the Valley, including Borland, Ask Jeeves, Excite, Netflix, TiVo, Polycom, Seagate Technologies and Sequent Computer Systems.
The second part of the program will be a panel discussion entitled "Investment Opportunities Outside Silicon Valley." Panelists include: Valentin Gapontsev, Founder & CEO, IPG Photonics, DJ Peterson, Senior Political Scientist, RAND Corporation and Luis Mejia, Senior Associate, Stanford Office of Technology Licensing. The official program will conclude with a networking reception.
